Trail in Colors

It was a sunny mid-October afternoon in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. I was taking a walk towards the Bridal Veil Falls and was greatly impressed by the combination of colors I saw around me. I also loved the wooden board trail reaching to the water. Some of the green foliage was popping out through the rich fall colors, making this view more lively and vivid.
I took this picture using a Nikon D90 and a Nikkor 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens.
On a DX format camera, the 16mm focal length ensured a wide enough angle to cover the colorful scene. The lighting was only fair in the woods so I set the aperture at F6.3 to get enough depth of view. Vibration Reduction really helped keep the image sharp at a shutter speed of 1/60s (hand held).
In Photoshop CS3, I dragged the curve a little bit to enhance the contrast and I used the “Smart Sharpen” filter to make the image sharper.
